“Gender Perspective of Private Law” (Feminist Legacy in Legal Theory and Practice – Round Table VI)

University of Belgrade Faculty of Law organized from 30 June – 1 July 2022 as the LAWGEM Multiplier Event No.4 conference entitled “Feminist Legacy in Legal Theory and Practice”. The conference was focused on the topics of the Textbook Dragica Vujadinović, Mareike Fröhlich, Thomas Giegerich (eds), “Gender-competent legal education” (Springer Nature, Cham, 2022), which has been one of the main intellectual outputs of the LAWGEM project. The round tables however encompassed the wider context related to the most actual gender issues and with the participation of the prestigious key note speakers.

Round Table V entitled “Gender Perspective of Private Law” was moderated by Prof. Dr. Branko Radulović and Prof. Dr. Fuensanta Rabadán Sánchez-Lafuente. It was opened by keynote speech entitled “The Reproduction of Gender Difference and Heteronormativity in Family Law”, held by Prof. Dr. Rosemary Hunter. The issue of “Gender-Competent Family Law” was examined by Prof. Dr. Fuensanta Rabadán Sánchez-Lafuente; professors Dr. Snežana Dabić and Dr. Katarina Dolović spoke about “Covid-19 and Contract Relations – A Gender Perspective”, while Prof. Dr. Gabriele Carapezza Figlia examined “Gender Perspectives in Law of Contracts”. Prof. Dr. Ljubinka Kovačević held lecture entitled “Gender Equality in the World of Work in the Conditions of Multiple Crisis”; Prof. Dr. Mirjana Drenovak Ivanović spoke about “Environmental Crisis and Gender Issue”, while Prof. Dr. Branko Radulović examined the issue of “Gender Sensitive Public Policies”.
